Under-appreciated compared to flowers, leaves play an extremely important role not only for the plant or tree but for the environment at large. Leaves release oxygen through photosynthesis. Some leaves, like the tulsi leaf, have medicinal values. Others, like the banana leaf, provide an eco-friendly way to eat our meals. In some homes, leaves are used to make roofs while in some other homes, leaves like the Asopalav leaf are used to decorate and suggest auspiciousness. They may look ordinary but are, in fact, truly inspirational.
